Clinical Director/Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor
Beth Salter, LCMHCS, LCAS
You are the expert on your life; therefore, I use a collaborative approach to therapy driven by your input. Together, we will develop a treatment plan to give you the tools and skills to achieve your optimal life satisfaction and emotional wellness in a caring, non-judgmental environment. My counseling experience spans all ages, for individuals, couples, families, and groups. I provide comprehensive clinical assessments, substance abuse and ADHD assessments. I also hold a supervisor license, which allows me to provide supervision to provisionally licensed mental health counselors. I have treated a range of symptoms, including adjustment disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorder, and substance use disorders.
Using many theoretical approaches, I help you achieve your goals, including CBT, recovery model, motivational interviewing, DBT, and TF-CBT therapy. My training in TF-CBT allows me to more effectively treat physical, sexual and emotional abuse in all ages.
My groups are all classroom style so as not to put anyone on the spot in front of others. This puts you in charge of how much or how little you share in the group. The groups are designed to help you gain the maximum skills and tools, even if you share minimally.
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor
Karyn Miracle, LCMHCA
Are life’s challenges making you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or out of control? Do you feel as though you have lost pieces of yourself and are unsure of who you are or what you want? Have memories of the past or worries about the future prevented you from living the life you desire? My commitment as your counselor is to help you gain a better understanding of yourself and your personal experiences. Together we will explore and identify any barriers and obstacles keeping you stuck, and implement skills and strategies to help you reduce anxiety, improve mood, strengthen relationships, and foster growth. My goal as your counselor is to provide you with the space and skills to move from where you are to where you want to be.
My intention when working with Teens (13+) and Adults in individual sessions is to make sure that you feel heard, understood, and respected throughout our time together. My primary areas of focus include, but are not limited to: ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Relationship Struggles, Parenting, Military Members & Families, and Adjustment issues. Foundationally, I tend to lead toward a Person-Centered therapeutic approach, but integrate various methods and interventions from Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) depending on what fits best for each client. I cannot promise to change your circumstances or behaviors, but I can promise to provide you with a supportive, non-judgemental, safe space to facilitate healing and promote growth.
Faith Houck-Wylie, Counselor Intern
I am a strong proponent of the connection between mind and body. I believe that for one to fully meet their potential as a healthy person, our physical and mental health must find balance positively and productively. This looks different for everyone, and I see it as an honor to help support my clients in a way that empowers them to work on themselves to enhance their well-being. Being a part of my client’s journey towards health and wellness is something I take very seriously and take the utmost care of. I primarily use psychodynamic, person-centered, and multicultural perspectives to help those from unique and diverse backgrounds align personal values to meet their goals in life.
With a background in working with adults, adolescents, and children in multiple mental health settings I can adapt and orient myself with my clients in an open, kind, curious, and nonjudgmental way. As a counseling intern working under the license of Beth Salter (LCMHC), my goal is to create a safe and trusting space for all my clients so that we can work collaboratively and learn from one another to create lasting positive changes.
I graduated from the Oregon Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in applied psychology and a minor in human interaction. Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Arts in clinical mental health counseling through Northwestern University. I am committed to continuing my education and staying informed on the newest information as well as research so that I can provide the highest quality mental health care that I can.
I look forward to working with you!
